We stand united against the proposed Sod Checkoff Program.

We stand in opposition to the Sod Checkoff because government checkoff programs:

• are unequal in the benefits they provide to participants across our diverse nation.

• require mandatory “financial assessments” (fees) without exception.

• have poor transparency and accountability as they grow in complexity.

• ignore that farmers are capable of achieving the same objectives without government involvement.

• are immoral. Industry’s use of the federal government to forcefully collect fees and taxes from individual farmers without consent is a form of theft and contrary to natural law and democratic principles.
